The Life of St. Christopher
Christopher was a giant of a man, and the beloved story says he set out to serve the greatest king in the world. A hermit told him to serve Christ by carrying travelers across a dangerous river. One night a small child asked to be carried, and halfway across the boy grew heavier than the whole world.
On the far bank the child revealed He was Christ, carrying the weight of the world and the One who made it. The giant became Christopher, "Christ-bearer." For centuries drivers, pilots and travelers have clipped his medal to the visor or tucked it in a suitcase, asking his protection on the road.
“Behold St. Christopher and go your way in safety.”
